2017 Road-trip

We went on a road-trip to California and even though it was a fast little getaway it was nice to get away for a few days. We left early Thursday morning and got into San Francisco late that evening. It wasn't that bad of a drive (although the scenery isn't that great). We came prepared for our long journey with snacks, water, fruit and some sandwiches. Whuch really helped on out time since we didn't have to stop to get food, we just stopped for gas and bathroom breaks. It only started to get bad once we got closer to San Francisco it was raining like crazy and very windy. As we got on the bay bridge getting into the city traffic all of a sudden came to a stand still. Everyone was trying to merge to the left. We finally saw what was causing the bad traffic, a semi-truck had gotten blown over on its side. So to say that we really wanted to get off that bridge would be an understatement! I must say that the traffic in San Francisco is crazy, I was so glad that David did the dr

I really have the worst luck ever...

A few weeks ago after I got home from work I went to visit one of my neighbors and as I was leaving to drive home I noticed the tire pressure light in the car was on. I drove right to Costco's tire center to have them take a look at my tires. And yep sure enough the front driver side tire had a nail in it and the tire was almost flat. It was bad enough that it couldn't just have been removed and repaired it had to be replaced. David was at work and I couldn't get in touch with him to let him know. I ended up having to make an executive decision so I told them to go ahead and replace it. They said they don't usually just do one tire so they did two of them. So I spent my Friday evening hanging out at Costco. It wasn't too bad, just not how I would've wanted my evening to go. The bad thing about the situation is that David had just taken our car in to have an oil change earlier that morning, and they had rotated the tires and checked the alignment. When I first

Luscious lashes

For as long as I have been wearing make-up (like 20 years or so). I have always used the same mascara, (Maybelline brand, in the pink and green bottle). I finally decided to change it up a bit and got a Mega Lash brush and I have loved it! I never realized my lashes could look so good, they stay full and long all day and at the end of the day it hasn't rubbed under my eyes. They look awesome and I have been so impressed with it! It's always fun to try new things especially if the outcome is good. I think I'm going to start experimenting more with my make-up routine and my hair routine as well.

My battle with mental illness

I have had bi-polar disorder for about 16 years now. And I definitely have my on and off days. I must admit though most of my days are good so I really can't complain too much. But I'm going to share my story. These two pictures are about 3 years apart. In the first one I was at the lowest point I have ever been. I had recently quit a job that I loved, and I wasn't happy with my new job situation. I had no motivation or drive to do my best. I really had no motivation to do anything at all. I wasn't happy with myself and I didn't care about myself either. I would usually just wake up in the morning and brush through my hair a little, brush my teeth and put clothes on. I didn't try at all to look my best or even try to feel good about myself. I just didn't care. All I really wanted to do was sleep. I also had really bad social anxiety, especially in group settings. I would clam up, not say a word and want to leave the room. David and I even went on a few vacat
