4th of July craft day...

I got together with my mom, sister and niece to do a craft for the 4th of July. We had so much fun doing our crafts. I grew up with my mom always having our house decorated so cute. And decorating my house has been one of my favorite things since being married. It really just makes the space feel more like home. My mom and sister are super crafty, I just hope that I can be as crafty as they are someday!   I made a few 4th of July crafts right after I got married, and each year when I pull out my decorations and set them up I just love that I can think to myself "hey I made that."

Dinner date with my cute sister-in-law

My husband's brother and his wife live in Tempe Arizona, which means we don't get to see them too often. They were in town a few weeks ago and me and my sister-in-law Breezy got together for dinner. We went to Lucky Slice Pizza at downtown Ogden, and it was delicious. We has such a good time together and it was great to catch up with her. She has the funnest personality and it is always so good to talk to her.

How does jouarnaling help me?

I have always had a hard time keeping a journal. All growing up I tried several times to have a diary or a journal but I just couldn't keep up with it. For some reason it is easier for me to type my thoughts and stories rather than writing them in a book. I do feel though that keeping a "jouarnaling blog" is good for me, it lets me escape almost and get lost in my thoughts. I also enjoy it more because it lets me focus on the good things that are going on in my life and celebrate my adventures. It is also nice because then I can go back and read these stories and be able to have these memories. It is also nice to keep a journal because your family and friends can look at it as well and know a little more about you and what goes on in your life, especially if you don't see them very often. So even though I may not always have the greatest things to share at least I can be reminded of all these happy times in my life.

Seven days of outfits

→ Sunday:      This is my new favorite skirt! I got it from Lularoe and I love it. This is also a turquoise necklace I forgot about that I am loving!! ↠ Monday:      I have had these khakis for a few years now and the past two summers I couldn't get them on. So a few weeks ago I decided I would try them on just to see if they fit. And sure enough I was able to get them on!! I was so excited, they are still a little tight but at least I'm making progress. ↦ Tuesday:      Even though this outfit is more simple I still felt good in it. I added a bracelet and some flowery shoes to make this outfit more fun!!  I've had these jeans for a while and always forget how much I like them, they are just super comfortable. ⇸ Wednesday:      I love this shirt, and these jeans are awesome as well. They are my first pair of "skinny jeans" and they are just great. I was always afraid to try "skinny jeans" but I have absolutely loved them. This necklace

There is always something to be happy about...

I came across this Quote on Pinterest and I am loving it!! 💚 💛 💜 Too often I think we all get an idea in our minds of how we think our lives should be. And when things don't go the way we had planned or hoped we get frustrated, when really we should just try to be happy with the gifts and blessings we have currently. If we are always focused on the negative or bad things in our lives we will miss out on everything that is good in our lives. And we will never be happy or satisfied with what we have. That's my thought for the day have a good weekend everyone!!

Let the summer begin

I enjoy summertime so much! Everything from BBQ's, being outside in the warm weather, outside sports and this year with my gardening. I know this summer is going to be so enjoyable. A few weekends ago we went over to my mom's for a family get together and had such a good time. David, my step dad Paul and my nephew Stockton played some baseball.  I even joined them for a few minutes and I got some hits. I must admit I was pretty proud of myself, I have always had a hard time hitting baseballs. The other kids played on the trampoline for a while and at one point asked if me and my cousin wanted to come join them haha. I thought to myself "oh goodness I haven't been on a tramp in at least 10 years". Plus I have broken numerous bones on trampolines, so David really didn't want me to get on, but it's all good there were no injuries. And it was actually a lot of fun!  My Aunt Rinnie and cousin Krystal surprised my Uncle Gary with a trip to Texas to see Jimm

Proud Aunt Missy

👦-👧 I want to take a moment to brag about my niece's and nephew's. All NINE of them are so smart, talented and happy they make me so proud and happy every single day! I have been lucky enough to go to some of their performances and games over the past few months. I really enjoy watching them do what makes them happy. I have loved to be able to watch them grow and develop into such wonderful people! They give me all the feels 💚💜😍💕💙

👗 Quirky fact about me 👠

For as long as I can remember I have had this weird obsession with how I put my clothes in my closet. When I put my clothes away they have to be color coordinated and arranged by the sleeve length. I used to put the empty hangers in one area, I don't do this anymore. I mostly did this so I would know when my sister had taken clothes from my closet. 🤣 Another thing I started doing about ten years ago is after I wear something I put the hanger in backwards, so that way I know it's been worn.  Then I can go through my clothes at the end of the season or the year and if I don't think I'll wear those items anymore I can get rid of them. I can't take that last tip as something I made up, I think I remember learning that from Oprah?

📘 May book review- "Big Little Lies"

My sister and a bunch of my cousin's did a book club several years ago and I loved it! We started out as just having a Bunco group which was super fun, but we wanted a change and started the book club instead. We had the group for a few years and I really enjoyed it. Then all of our lives got so hectic and people moved away so we had to stop it. Recently my cousin Jessica decided it would be fun to start it again and instead of meeting as a group in person we could do our discussions through Face book.  I am so glad we have started up again, I loved being able to visit and meet with these ladies every month. I've also read a lot more books than I would have normally. I have really come to enjoy reading more than I have in a long time. I love I am able to use my imagination and escape my every day life even if it's just for a short amount of time. ➼The first book we read was "Big Little Lies" by Liane Moriarty   This book talks about a group of  women that st

I want to live a good life

I have been thinking about life and death a lot lately. (I know that's kind of eerie to think about). But I've been thinking about my life, and if I were to pass away what would people remember me for? As I got to thinking I hope that I would be remembered for being a good, kind, loving and happy person.   I try to have a positive attitude on things and look for the good in the world. It can be hard at times, but I just have to tell myself that not everything in life is going to be easy. I may not have kids but hopefully someday my wish for that will come. I can't count the number of tears I have cried or how many times I have prayed for children. If I don't end up having children of my own I hope my nieces and nephews know how much I love them, and know how much I want them to succeed, and want the best for them and just want for them to be happy.        It also got me thinking about my time with my husband and that I want to make every moment count and cheris
